Frien: but it’s extremely well-written and it’s touching me deeply
it’s not a 19th century style sappy love story, i promise

Frien: it has some amazing descriptions of ugliness and depression and loneliness

but because it touched me very deeply
and it’s moving ideas around in my head that i thought were pretty fixed
and every time i’m not reading it, i’m thinking about how much i want to read it

we talked a long time ago about what we think love is–very briefly
9:59 AM and this book is really adding new ideas into my head–or at least rustling and agitating ideas that thought they had found comfortable home

10:13 AM not overwhelmingly, but you get the sense that someone came inside from smoking and was breathing and stinking all over my room
because these guys were smoking outside my window
and i had my window open
people don’t realize how far their cigarette smoke travels
as far as they’re concerned, it’s gone when it leaves their lungs
